Zoe Ness’ late winner saw the Wildcats retain their unbeaten start to the season with a win over Oxford United Women. Ness slotted home three minutes from time to seal victory after Durham were forced to come from behind after Ellie Noble’s goal at the start of the second half. Consett Codgers kept their 100% winning home record intact against a more youthful barnard castle team. The final score resembling a cricket score with the Codgers winning 53-52. Durham WFC 1 v 3 Everton Ladies

Beth Hepple’s stunning strike wasn’t enough for Durham as they were beaten by an impressive Everton side. The Toffees raced into an early lead through Gabby George and Claudia Walker before Hepple’s long-range effort reduced the deficit before the break. Despite a spirited second half display, the visitors wrapped up the victory late on as Lauren Davies found the back of the net.
